Netball enthusiasts have a place to play, thanks to CPF

“Our CPF patrollers came together, donated the poles and assisted with ground measuring and drawing lines. We want our youth to take part in sport and to stay away from illegal activities.”

Wright Park CPF patrollers teamed up to install new netball poles in the park at the corner of Meyers Drive and Mitchell Street.
Chairperson of the CPF Arles Baloyi said they realised that most netball teams in the area struggle to play because they do not have proper infrastructure.

CPF members proud of a job well done.

“We realised that there is no sport facility in Wright Park for our young girls. It did not sit well with me because the world tends to turn its back on us.
“Our youth end up doing wrong activities and getting into drugs because there are no sports grounds to keep them busy,” said Baloyi.

As the team got to work, there were already a group of youngsters ready for practice at the park. The girls were happy to finally have a park in which to play.
“Our CPF patrollers came together, donated the poles and assisted with ground measuring and drawing lines. We want our youth to take part in sport and to stay away from illegal activities.

Members of the Wright Park CPF want to help keep the youth off the streets.

“Our next sport project will be soccer grounds. We will come up with a plan and assist our young boys. We just want to encourage residents to come on board and assist further as these netball teams will still need balls and jerseys,” he said.
