Metro claims licence department fully operational

On February 9, the Addie received complaints from two individuals who claimed did not receive good service at the Ekurhuleni Licensing Department offices in Springs.
Both of them needed vehicle licence discs.
They both said that they did not receive their licences and were told that the office had run out of the paper used to print the licences.
When they asked if they could go to other branches to print their licences, they were told that the Brakpan and Benoni offices had the same problem.

City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini confirmed that some of the licensing offices in the City have been affected by late deliveries of face-value documents in the past few weeks.
“This challenge has since been addressed and all our offices are fully operational and we encourage our clients to make use of our services, including on Saturdays.
“The branches that were heavily affected are Springs, Benoni and Bedfordview.”
Dlamini added the shortage lasted for two to three days.
