Over 10 000 title deeds gather dust at customer care centres

“A total of 10 468 of title deeds continue to gather dust in our offices.”

Kwatsaduza – The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on beneficiaries of government-subsidised houses, who have not collected their title deeds, to do so at their nearest customer care centres.
MMC for Human Settlements Mabekenyane Thamahane urged the younger generation to assist the elderly in ensuring they collect their documents.

“A total of 10 468 title deeds continue to gather dust in our offices. Most of these belong to people who acquired RDP houses from as far back as 1994,” said Thamahane.
The MMC urged senior citizens, especially in Thembisa where there is a high number of uncollected title deeds, to answer the call by collecting their documents.
