Councillor Charmaine Kock of Ward 75 has confirmed the closure of Enstra Road from February 17.
“I have personally laid many complaints to the metro about the condition of this road.
“Water, or sewage, often floods the road, and eventually work began to rectify some of the issues,” she explained.
Kock said the contractors then realised that the damage to the road is deeper than expected.

“They have explained that pipes need to be installed across the road where it has collapsed.
“Sub-soil drainage needs to be installed before the road can be repaired,” she added.
The road will be closed at Welgedacht and East Geduld roads for the next two weeks.
The ward councilor urged the community to be patient and to find alternative routes.
