Two male taxi commuters were attacked after they got into a Quantum on Sunday morning.
One of the men was stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim and his colleague stopped a white Quantum on the N12 Etwatwa off-ramp.
“The two men were heading for Springs from Delmas.
“When they got in, there were four other people in the Quantum, three men and a woman.
“The female passenger pulled out a gun and threatened them,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer of Springs SAPS.

One of the men fought back.
“Two men then stabbed the victim several times and strangled him,” added Ramphora.
Both men were dropped off in an open veld in Welgedacht.
They went to nearby houses to find help, but the injured man died before they could reach a hospital.
The robbers made off with two cellphones, a laptop, R1 000 cash and an unknown amount of cash from the deceased.
