Olympia Park School learners delighted with sports field

“Today was history in the making, and I couldn't be more proud of our school.”

Olympia Park School learners and teachers were ecstatic to use their school’s first sports field at its unveiling on Wednesday morning.
Learners have been waiting a long time to show their athletic abilities and will finally represent their school on their field.

Bonkosi Mnisi, Shumba Zingeni and Junior Danis from Olympia Park School will make best use of the field.

At the opening, learners took part in the javelin, discus and various other activities.
Before they had their field, learners from the school had to cross the road and walk to the Springs Rugby Club to use the facilities.

“Today was history in the making, and I couldn’t be more proud of our school. It has been so long but our learners now finally have a sports ground they can be proud of and call their own,” said teacher Laurika Lazarides.
Popular team sports like cricket, rugby, soccer and various others will be enjoyed on this field.
The school will host its first sports event on February 17.
