Illegal immigrants arrested during police operation

This resulted in 31 traffic fines issued to motorists amounting to R10 950.

Kwatsaduza – Thirty-two illegal immigrants were nabbed during a police operation in Ekurhuleni on Friday.
The operation was led by district commissioner Maj-Gen Anna Sithole, who was joined by deputy district commissioner Brig Lebohang Machakela, senior SAPS members, members from Ekurhuleni district police stations, Gauteng Traffic, EMPD, CPFs and other stakeholders, along the N12 in Springs.

They carried out stop-and-searches for illegal firearms and stolen goods, including stolen motor vehicles, and drugs.
Those contravening the Road Traffic Act were brought to book and roadworthy checks were carried out on vehicles.
This resulted in 31 traffic fines issued to motorists, amounting to R10 950.
During the operation 413 vehicles and 1 788 people were searched.
