Robbers made off batteries after a robbery at Daggafontein train station on Monday night.
It is alleged that six men stormed into the guardhouse at the station.
“One of them had a gun and three had knives. They surprised the security guards on duty, a male and female,” explained Capt Johaness Ramphora, communications officer of the Springs SAPS.

The male security guard was badly assaulted by some of the robbers and subsequently rushed to the hospital.
The female was unharmed.
“The robbers stole an unknown number of batteries. The value of the goods is also unknown,” he said.
