Officers seize vehicles full of counterfeit goods

At about 05:00, the police noticed the two Quantums along Welgedacht Road towards the N12 freeway.
“The police followed them and stopped both vehicles. A passenger from the first Quantum jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.
“The officers cornered the remaining four suspects and requested to search both vehicles.
“They recovered 15 bags of counterfeit Nike tekkies,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, the communications officer of the Springs SAPS.

On further investigation, it was established that the goods were to be transported to Johannesburg.
The value of counterfeit goods is unknown at this stage.
All four will be charged for dealing and possession of counterfeit goods.
The station commander of Springs SAPS, Brig Thembeka Gwebushe, applauded the members for their swift response and apprehending the suspects.
