Getting to know Busisiwe Jaholo Olympia Park School's new head girl.

Olympia Park School’s new head girl, Busisiwe Jaholo, wants to bring change to her school.
How did you get to this position?
I knew I had to impress my teachers, so I worked much harder than I normally do to improve my grades. I also showed them and my peers a lot of respect and respected and loved myself.
What extra duties did you have to take on?
I am in charge of the school’s feeding scheme. It can be stressful at times, but I have learnt how to deal with that stress. I also have to attend all the RCL meetings.
Do you interact with your peers differently now as head girl?
Now that I am head girl, I show them with more respect. I also try and sit down with them and listen if something is bothering them.

What has been the biggest challenge so far?
Being patient and respectful toward my peers when they don’t show me any respect. Also, constantly having to prove myself to my teachers gets tiring and stressful.

I love reading, dancing and cooking.
What change would you like to see at the school under your leadership?
I want people to love each other and be kind. I also want them to show our teachers and schoolmasters more respect.
