Chapole Day Care in celebratory mood

“My love for children started while I was still working at the centre. I am really dedicated and I believe God gifted me to love working with children.”

Chapole Day Care Centre in Bakerton celebrated its 25th birthday on November 19.
Founder Gladys Chapola discovered her love for children in 1996 and has never looked back.
“I started teaching children at Bakerton Community Centre. Unfortunately, my contract ended with the centre,” she said.
She said most community members loved her work after they recognised she was no longer with the centre and asked her to start her daycare centre.
“I decided to speak to my husband and see if we could start the daycare at our home, and he was very supportive. I went by the books, inspectors came to validate and observe my home. They told me I can carry on with my work,” said Chapola.

Community members were happy their children were under her care because they wanted assistance with the children.
“My love for children started while I was still working at the centre. I am dedicated and I believe God gifted me to love working with children,” she said.
Celebrating the birth of the daycare means a lot for her. She said after challenges faced with the pandemic, she is grateful they are still all in good health and still operating.
“This is a very special day for me. Even when God remembers me, I still tell my children to continue this legacy. This is so precious to me. I want them to follow in my footsteps,” she said.
Chapola added any donation or sponsorship is welcome at their daycare. She hopes to extend her daycare centre to be bigger for the children.
