Man shot during business robbery

The owner of a barbershop in Daggafontein was shot in the hand and robbed of his cellphone following an armed robbery at a neighbouring shop.
The incident took place last Tuesday around 19:00.
Before the man was shot, two armed men entered the neighbouring shop at around 19:00 and overpowered the store’s 29-year-old owner and his assistant.
“The suspects ordered the pair to lie on the ground. A third suspect, also carrying a pistol, was standing at the entrance,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora from the Springs SAPS.

The robbers took R9 000 cash, one carton of cigarettes and two cellphones.
As the perpetrators fled, they overpowered the owner of the barbershop who was sitting outside and took his cellphone.
“While struggling with the suspect, a shot went off and the victim was shot through his left middle finger,” added Ramphora.
The robbers then fled on foot.
