No end in sight for Rusoord sewage woes

"It is unsafe and unhealthy," said Peach.

Residents of Rusoord are facing an uphill challenge with an ongoing sewage problem.
Sewage problems first started plaguing residents at the beginning of the month.
In September, Dudley and Barbara Pocock saw their entire front yard covered in sewage and reported the issue to the municipality many times but never received help.
Danie Peach, Flip Koen and many other residents are now also faced with the same issue.

The situation has made Peach’s toilet unusable and he has to walk down the street to use the toilet at another flat.
“We pay every month only for us not to get basic services. Old people are living here and you can’t just take basic hygiene away from them.
“It is unsafe and unhealthy,” said Peach.
