Dersley father and son robbed at home

The victim was in the bathroom getting ready for work when he heard his 16-year-old son screaming.

A man and his son were ambushed by robbers in their Dersley home on Thursday morning.
The victim was in the bathroom getting ready for work when he heard his 16-year-old son screaming.
“He went to check what was happening and found his son standing in the passage with two unknown men. One of the suspects was pointing a gun at the son,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer for Springs Police Station.

“The complainant then ran back into the bathroom and shouted for help through the window. The suspects then ordered him to come outside and cooperate, which he did,”
The man and his son were then tied up with shoelaces.
The robbers asked for the victim’s car keys and then loaded items from the house into the car, a maroon Hyundai i20.
They took two TVs, two cellphones and R450 in cash. The estimated value of the stolen items is R185 850.
