Selcourt family fall prey to house robbers

The victim was asleep when he sensed someone in the bedroom.

A 49-year-old man and his family were robbed in their Selcourt home during the early hours of last Sunday morning.
The victim was asleep when he sensed someone in the bedroom.
“He opened his eyes and found one of the suspects pointing a gun at him.
“He was told to get out of bed and lay on the floor with his wife,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer at the Springs Police Station.

The victim told police their hands were tied behind their backs with wire.
“Another suspect then brought their two sons into the bedroom and also told them to lie down.
“They covered them with blankets.
“The suspects ransacked the house and took jewellery, a laptop and cellphones,” added Ramphora.
The value of the stolen goods is about R56 000.
No shots were fired during the incident.
