A Selection Park pensioner was rudely awakened by intruders in his home on Friday afternoon.

“The man could not produce any identification when requested.
“It is alleged that the suspect then forced the old man to lie on the floor while another two suspects ransacked the house.

“They carried a safe out of the wardrobe into the living area where they opened it,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer of the Springs Police Station.
One other suspect kept a watch at the gate and threatened a neighbour with a gun, preventing him from driving out of his yard.
The robbers escaped with old coins, jewellery and an LG TV, all valued at approximately R70 000.
