Cupcakes of Hope hosted a bake sale to raise funds for National Cupcake Day at Springs Mall on Saturday.
“I baked 2 944 for today, and there were 200 more that were donated. So many people pitched in and donated ingredients,” said Brigite Pita, the organisation’s coordinator for Springs.
“We appreciate everyone’s efforts.”
Pita and her team of volunteers managed to raise R60 070. She says this amount is double what they made last year.

Every year, on the third Saturday of September, Cupcakes of Hope observes National Cupcake Day.
Cupcake of Hope assists between 100 and 120 cancer patients every month by paying for their medical and other day-to-day needs.

The volunteers used their creativity to make the cupcakes look as good as they tasted!

“People can still donate to the organisation throughout the year,” she added.
