Woman left bleeding after home invasion in Selcourt

The woman’s husband told police they were sleeping when he was woken up by a sound coming from somewhere around the house.

A woman was rushed to the Netcare N17 Hospital after a home invasion at her Shiraz Road home in Selcourt, last Saturday morning.
The woman’s husband told police they were sleeping when he was awakened by a sound in the house.
He initially thought it was somebody bringing back his daughter who was involved in an accident earlier that day and got out of bed to investigate.

When he looked through the bedroom window he saw two men standing between his cars.
He immediately blocked the door with the chest freezer and woke up his wife and indicated she should call for help.
The man then heard the sound of a gun going off and saw his wife was bleeding.
After the men fled, he saw his wife had been shot in the right arm and rushed her to the hospital.
A case of attempted murder has been opened.
