Two arrested during police operation

A police operation conducted by officers from the Springs Police Station and Springs CPF community patrollers last Wednesday.

A police operation conducted by officers from the Springs Police Station and Springs CPF community patrollers last Wednesday on Ermelo Road, Tonk Meter Drive and Ermelo Road led to the arrest of a couple for possession of a stolen vehicle.
The purpose of the operation was to check for unlicensed firearms, wanted suspects, stolen property and suspected stolen vehicles.
The couple, aged 47 and 44, were found to be driving a vehicle that was reported stolen in Wierdaburg last year.

The police also arrested three illegal immigrants and issued traffic violation fines valued at R2 000.
In total, the police searched 112 vehicles and 206 people.
While the police were conducting this operation, no serious crime was reported.
The station commander of Springs, Brig Thembeka Gwebushe, applauded the members for their efforts and actions to protect the community of Springs by enforcing the law and making the precinct a safer place.
