A truck driver was hijacked on Welgedacht Road last Wednesday afternoon after his boss was deceived into sending him to collect a load of cargo.
After the driver arrived along Marsh Street, he met up with the two men who had initially called his boss.
The men climbed into the truck and directed him to the place from where the load was to be collected.
While driving, one of the men pulled out a gun, pointed it at the driver and instructed him to stop the truck.
Once the truck had stopped, the man got into the driver’s seat and drove the truck to a veld, where the driver and his assistants were forced out of the truck and tied up with cable ties.
