A 54-year-old Dersley man had the worst start to his day when he was hijacked at 05:30 last Wednesday morning.
The man told police has was opening the gate at his Zircon Avenue home when he saw a man pointing a gun at him.
The hijacker overpowered the victim, strangled him. Four of his accomplices joined the pair and one of the men struck the victim on the head with a gun.

They then drove away with the victim’s bakkie, a blue Suzuki with registration DG83XTGP.
The victim was taken to the Netcare N17 hospital for treatment.
The value of all items, including the bakkie, is approximately R300 000.
