A 38-year-old woman from the Gugulethu informal settlement came across a body in a veld while gathering wood last Thursday afternoon.
The woman told police she was walking in the veld when she spotted the body.

Police who responded to the scene inspected the body and found it was a man who had sustained numerous wounds to his head and had sjambok lacerations all over his body.
His trousers had been pulled down as if he was dragged and he had a piece of burnt plastic inserted in his anus. There were also signs of strangulation.
No arrests have been made.
