Man hijacked by men wearing police uniform

His green Toyota Hilux bakkie with the registration KB37LRGP valued at R700 000 was taken.

A man and his three companions were hijacked on the N12 on Sunday evening by a man wearing a police uniform.
Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said the victim was on his way back from the Kruger National Park when a white BMW with blue lights indicated he should pull over.
Once he had stopped, a man wearing a police cap, police mask and civilian clothing approached him and asked if he had a firearm, to which the victim responded that he didn’t.

Hearing this, the hijacker pulled out his gun, pointed it at the victim and asked him to move to the passenger side.
He then got into the car and drove off with the victims for about 20 minutes.
Throughout the 20-minute drive, the victims’ hands were tied together and their belongings were taken.
The victims were eventually dropped off in Boksburg where a security guard helped them contact the man’s parents for help.

The suspect also took an iPhone 12, wallet, AC Book, laptop, clothing and a gazebo valued at approximately R77 000.

It is unknown how many suspects were involved in the hijacking.
According to the complainant, he went to Douglasdale Police Station, and they didn’t want to open a case for him.
At Littleton Police Station, he was told to go and open the case at the nearest police station where the hijacking took place.
He ended up at Etwatwa Police Station, where they opened the docket for him and was taken to Springs Police Station to register the docket.
