Family robbed in their home

The victim was sleeping on the couch in the sitting room when he heard a noise.

A 31-year-old man was rudely awakened when robbers gained entry to his Eastvale home on Thursday morning.
The victim was sleeping on the couch in the sitting room when he heard a noise. The front door was not locked.
According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johaness Ramphora, the victim was then confronted by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.

“They assaulted him and demanded cash. The suspects took him to the main bedroom, where his wife and son were sleeping.
”They locked the family inside the bedroom and started to ransack the house.”
The robbers took two handbags and two TV sets.
“The suspects were disturbed when CTS security guards arrived. They left the two TVs in the yard and ran away,” added Ramphora.
The security guards alerted the police. The man sustained minor injuries.
