My peers and family has been my biggest support system.

Jessica Sweeting, head girl at Olympia Park School, has worked hard to earn the position and hopes to make the best of it.
How did you get this position, were you elected, and how?
The teachers elected me.
What extra responsibilities do you have to take on with your new role?
Checking that all Representative Council of Leaders (RCL) members are doing their duties and marking the register.
How to handle difficult situations and learn how to be calm.
I also help the TO of the RCL to run projects for the RCL.

What sacrifices did you have to make to achieve this position?
I had to give up a lot of free time and some of my friends.
What made you decide to take on these new responsibilities?
I want to be someone that others can look up to and I feel that I have the ability to improve our RCL team and be a leader.
How have your peers, friends and family reacted?
My peers and family have been my biggest support system.

Have the new responsibilities affected your academic work? Do you find that you have to work harder?
It was difficult in the beginning, but I learnt quickly how to balance between my academic work and my responsibilities.
Has the position changed the way you interact with your peers and classmates?
No, not at all. I still interact with my friends the same.
Do you think the position will increase your opportunities for university acceptance?
Yes, it will because it will show I am trustworthy and very responsible and that I can handle situations calmly.
