Man hijacked after being pulled over by bogus cop

The men then covered the victim’s face, instructed him to face down and drove off with him.

A Delmas man was dumped in Eland Park, South of Johannesburg after he was hijacked on Ermelo Road last Friday morning.
The victim, who was travelling in a white Toyota Landcruiser, told police he had just turned into Ermelo Road when he came across a white VW Golf 7 GTI, with a man wearing a police uniform standing in front of the car.
The man pulled him over and once he had stopped asked for his driver’s license.

While he was searching for it, the bogus policeman switched off the driver’s car, pulled out a gun and instructed him to move.
Another man, not in uniform, then got into the passenger side while a third man, also not in uniform, got into the driver’s side.
The men then covered the victim’s face, instructed him to face down and drove off with him.
They drove for hours until they dumped him in an area unknown to him.

The victim sought help and was told he was in Eland Park and was directed to the nearest police station.
After opening a case at the police station, the victim was taken via ambulance to the Netcare N17 Hospital for treatment for a leg injury he sustained.In addition to the car, the hijackers also took the victim’s cellphone and wallet, which contained cards and R220.
