Youth clean up War Memorial

“If we see people struggling, we are going to help, but you need to be willing to stand with us and help uplift other people,” said Bezuidenhoudt.

The Bittereinders Youth Movement spent Saturday morning cleaning up the War Memorial.
The movement, which was formed by Devon Hofmeyer and Justin Burr, aims to bring Afrikaner youth together in standing up for what is right and doing all they can to improve the future for the youth.
The Springs branch is the latest to be formed and joins two other branches in Pretoria.

“It’s so sad to see what is happening to one of our monuments. It is being used as a dumping site.
“We need to be proud of what we have achieved until now but we can’t be proud of this.
“We need to start being proud of our community, uplifting our youth because if it’s going to go on like this, we’re not going to have a future in this country,” said the chairperson of the Springs branch, Charlize Bezuidenhoudt.
Bezuidenhoudt described the clean-up as an awareness project of the youth movement.
“If we see people struggling, we are going to help, but you need to be willing to stand with us and help uplift other people,” said Bezuidenhoudt.
The movement is planning on starting a garden service where they will employ unemployed youth.
