Springs cycling club eager for more members to join

The club is also looking to host races in the future.

Springs cyclists founded an exciting new club, the Trainiacs, during lockdown last year.
The hard lockdown left many athletes stranded at home doing whatever exercises they could in small spaces.
When the lockdown restrictions were lifted, allowing for exercise outside, the streets of Springs were soon abuzz with runners and cyclists.
The Trainiacs started small with a few members but soon expanded to form a community of more than a dozen cyclists from all parts of Springs.

These cyclists wake up at the crack of dawn every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to meet up and ride together before going to work.
After riding, the members meet up at a café opposite Hoërskool Hugenote for a quick coffee and fresh, warm food as a reward for their hard work.
“Anyone can join us. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming and we will love for our club to grow,” said member Nicoleen Willemstijn.
The club is also looking to host races in the future.
