Rus ‘n Bietjie needs your help

Manager Ludwig Zuhlsdorff hopes the project can be completed by the end of the year.

The Rus ‘n Bietjie Retirement Home in Geduld is planning on erecting a fence in their recreational area to allow their residents to enjoy the garden safely.
“We want to make an area safe so that even the patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia are able to wander in the garden safely.
“We want to enclose an area in which those who enjoy gardening are capable to grow their own vegetables which will serve a multitude of positive benefits on many levels,” said Christelle Goldsworthy, who volunteers at the home.

According to Goldsworthy, some of the patients lose their bearings and wander out of the garden, putting their safety at risk.
Manager Ludwig Zuhlsdorff hopes the project can be completed by the end of the year.
“I want the residents here to live their best lives. We are blessed to live in a country that has sunny and warm weather most of the time, and we should allow the residents here to enjoy that on a daily basis,” said Zuhlsdorff.
Rus ‘n Bietjie kindly asked the Springs community to make this project a reality through donations.
