A female security guard was taken to a local private hospital by ambulance after she was assaulted during a robbery in Selcourt at a construction company last Sunday evening.
Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said a male security guard was sitting in the guardroom with his colleagues when they heard a gunshot.

Four men suddenly entered the room and demanded the guards hand over their keys.
The robbers disarmed the male guard and hit his female colleague before they forced the guards to lie down and tied their hands together.
After the men had fled, it was discovered they had stolen a microwave from the guardroom.
