George Sutter Park in Selection Park has been left in a horrible state for months, and the City of Ekurhuleni has done very little to address the issue.
Since the hard lockdown, the park’s bins have been filled to the brim with refuse and have not been emptied.
In addition, broken beer bottles and food containers are scattered across the grass, making the park unsafe for children.
The Advertiser has reported on the issue several times.

According to resident Petrus Gerber, the park is frequented by revellers every night, where drinking takes place and music is played at very high volumes.
“They play their music so loud, you can’t even sleep.
“I can’t imagine what the park will look like during the holidays when people come here to drink and litter,” said Gerber.
Comment requested from the City of Ekurhuleni will be published once it has been received.
