After 61 years of marriage, Casseldale residents Ben (85) and Rea (81) du Toit may have figured out the ingredients to a successful union.
“There are many times when I wanted to pack my bags and leave,” joked Rea.
“I stay because I really love him.”

The couple, who tied the knot on December 11, 1959, have three children and grandchildren.
“You can fight during the day, but you must not fight at night.
“Make sure that by the time you go to bed you are no longer angry at each other,” said Rea.
They are looking forward to having great-grandchildren.
“That would be awesome as we have not had a baby in the family for many years now,” they said.
