EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said a store manager at one of the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) main stores in Springs – where the electrical cables and maintenance equipment is kept – was going through CCTV footage on Monday morning when he noticed a very dedicated store man borrowing copper/aluminum electrical cables and a few cans of spray paint without approval.

“Before the EMPD crime fighting team was notified, the store man, who was not supposed to be in the restricted area at the time, couldn’t give clear answers of his illicit deeds when confronted and interrogated by EMPD members.
“The suspect, in his 40s, is facing charges in relation to theft and is expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Mokheseng.
