Local beauty aims to inspire

Local model makes it to the Empress South Africa semi-finals

Springs resident Sara Sithole (24) has worked hard to make it to the semi-finals of the hotly contested Empress South Africa pageant.
Empress South Africa is the country’s first and largest online-based beauty contest in the world and has given many women the opportunity to become online influencers.
What made you decide to enter this competition?
I feel like it’s a good platform for me and that I can use it to inspire other women.
What will you do if you win?
I will use the platform to inspire the women I know.
I have always wanted to be a role model to younger women and this is the best opportunity for me to do so.

What did you do to make it to the semi-finals?
I worked as hard as I could to make sure I stood out.
I feel like I’m a multi-talented person so I did well in activities they had us do.
Do you have advice for any women who want to enter beauty pageants?
I will tell them to fully believe in themselves.
They must keep a positive mindset and do whatever they can to win.
People have more potential and talent than they first realise.

Have many people supported you?
My whole family has been behind me the entire time and I am very grateful to them.
Is there a specific model or pageant winner that has inspired you?
Tamaryn Green (Miss South Africa 2018) has always been my inspiration.
I love how confident she is and she always stays true to herself.
Do you plan on entering more pageants in the future?
I will most definitely.
This has been such an amazing experience for me and has boosted my confidence.
Even if I don’t win this one I will enter as many as I can in the future.
