Nhlapo explained lending a helping hand is something she learnt from her mother. “I started with the initiative mid September with the support of my friends and family. “With the drive, I am trying to reach people who are in need and have no one to turn to. “Toiletries are important for personal hygiene purposes, which also contributes to the overall development of a person. “There is something about smelling good and looking clean which boosts a person’s confidence,” she explained. She stated access to basic toiletries is unfortunately a major challenge for some.

“The reality is that some people are unable to afford these things. “I feel sanitary towels should be made available free of charge. “Buying pads is expensive and at times families are faced with the challenge of buying something to eat for the day or pads, and obviously they will choose food but then what about that girl child? “Therefore, I am accepting whatever a person is able to donate, be it a bar of bath soap. “Every little thing can help us help someone else.” To get involved, call 082 517 9413. Arrangements can be made for donations to be collected.
