A plot in Grootvaly has been without electricity since Thursday.
According to residents living on the plot, a contractor told them the outage was caused by a power pylon that fell over in Nuffield and ripped the cables out of the ground.

The residents rely on a borehole for water but this water can’t be pumped when there is no power.
“We are suffering here; we don’t have any water in which to bath and all the meat in the fridge has gone off,” said Francois de Jager.
