Tsakani man gives back to his community

“Most of them are left to cater and care for their grandchildren with little or no help at all.”

Tsakani – A kind-hearted resident from Extension Five B recently donated baby nappies to 20 families and 160 packs of new toothbrushes to Grade R learners at Thuthukanisizwe Primary School. For the past two years Kie Ntuli (38) has been asking for donations from local businesses to help people who need assistance in the community.

“A lot of people in the community need help, especially the elderly. “Most of them are left to cater and care for their grandchildren with little or no help at all,” he said. Ntuli explained that social grants are unable to cover people’s basic needs. “People cannot afford to buy essentials with grant money because it is so little, and food and basics are expensive.

Grade R learners from Thuthukanisizwe Primary School received brand new toothbrushes from Kie Ntuli. Sibongile Phahla from the school received the welcome donation.

“I felt that as people we need to work together to help each other,” he added. Local businessman Aldo Rossman, who is Ntuli’s employer, describes him as someone with a big heart. “We have been working together for a while and the relationship has been great. We have been supporting local orphanages and old age homes. “The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the need for food parcels and other essentials.
