Four suspects held staff at a convenience store on the corner of Plantation Road and First Avenue at gunpoint just before closing time last Monday.
Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says four suspects, three armed with pistols and one with a rifle, entered the shop and held the manager and staff at gunpoint.
The manager was able to flee through the back door, leaving his employees with the suspects.

The suspects took an unknown amount of money from the cash register, three cellphones and an airtime machine.
The suspects fled the scene and met up with two other suspects who were waiting outside in a black double cab bakkie and drove off.
