Hijacking at Selcourt Towers

A man was hijacked as he was getting into his car at Selcourt Towers last Friday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the complainant had just come from the FNB ATM and was getting into his car when a suspect suddenly pushed him against his car, pulled out his gun and instructed him to get inside the car.

Two more suspects then climbed into the front seats and one of the suspects, who had a gun, instructed the complainant to put his head down.

The suspects then drove off.After about 15 minutes, the suspects stopped the car and one of them got out to make a call to somebody else.

The other two suspects inside the car started tampering with the car and asked the complainant if it had a tracker.

They then stripped the interior and when they were done got back on the road and drove to Masibeni Street in KwaThema where they dropped the complaint off.

In addition to the car, a white Mercedes Benz C180 with registration number JG65GDGP, the suspects drove off with the victim’s laptops and cellphones.

There were no shots fired during the hijacking and no injuries were reported.
