Tuck shop owner held at gunpoint during robbery

Four suspects robbed a Daggafontein tuck shop last Thursday evening, says Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.The tuck shop owner says that a man came to the store and asked to buy a bag of potatoes.

When the store employee opened the burglar gate to hand over the potatoes, three suspects suddenly appeared and one of them pulled out a gun and instructed the employee to get on the floor.

The other two suspects then went into the tuck shop and took the cash register which had R1 000 in and an airtime machine which had R270 worth of airtime in it.

The suspect then fled on foot.

No injuries were reported and no shots were fired during the robbery.
