Rapper addresses gender-based violence in new project

The latest challenge in the music industry is to identify and promote talent, especially lyricist in the hip-hop genre.

Kwa-Thema – Rapper Mandla Nkuna (28) joins a list of rappers who will take part in the #FreeestyleFriday challenge, created by rapper and lyricist Tumi Molekane, popularly known as Stogie T.

The latest challenge in the music industry is to identify and promote talent, especially lyricist in the hip-hop genre.

“In most of my raps I speak about my life experiences.

“I share my personal story with my fans, and I think that’s what makes me relatable.

“I am working on my fanbase, introducing people to my craft and giving them a bit of an idea as to what they can expect when I release my project.

“Initially, the plan was to release an extended-play (EP) by March, but I had to postpone,” says Nkuna.

The rapper is working on a project which addresses gender-based violence.

“I believe in using my platform to tackle social issues.

“We have seen how women are dying at the hands of their partners.

“In the coming couple of weeks, I will be launching my website where all my projects will be made available to everyone.

“At the moment, I am using Twitter and Facebook Live to touch base with my fans and people at large.

“My freestyle videos are also uploaded on these platforms,” he adds.
