Goods worth over R90 000 stolen in robbery

A woman was assaulted during a Selcourt house robbery.

Three suspects robbed a family in the late hours of Saturday evening.

At the time the complainant was watching TV at home.Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says he was caught unaware when men, armed with guns and wearing balaclavas, entered the room.

The complainant’s hands were tied using wire, before he was instructed to lie down.

The suspects searched the house while one stood guard watching over him.

One of the suspects informed the complainant he had been in jail for 15 years.

In the bedroom one of the suspects assaulted the complainant’s wife who was asleep.

The value of the stolen items which include a TV and several cellphones is R97 800.
