Community helps with arrest of burglar

The community of Kwa-Thema Extention Four assisted in the arrest.

A 35-year-old suspect was apprehended on Thursday morning for burglary and vandalism when he was caught red-handed inside Nkumbulo High School’s premises.

According to Capt Mavela Masondo, the Gauteng SAPS provincial spokesperson, the list of stolen items found with the suspect included appliances, kitchen utensils, cleaning material, taps, electrical cords, blankets and some groceries.

Kwa-Thema SAPS station commander Col Mareketle Thobejane thanked the community for being proactive and urged them to continue working together with the police in order to create a safe and crime-free environment.

The suspect appeared in the Kwa-Thema Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
