While the new mothers are ecstatic because of the arrival of their newborn babies, the sad reality sinks in as some of them do not even have receiving clothes, or any form of support.

“As police officers, we saw it fit to help where possible and we are delighted to have played the role in relieving some of the mothers’ stress and seeing the smile on their faces.

“We encourage our colleagues to also pay it forward.

“Together, we can make a difference and strengthen partnerships with the community in the fight against socials ills and crime,” says Sgt Media Khoza, communications officer at the Kwa-Thema Police Station.

The officers contributed from their own pockets to buy the items that were donated.

The clinic management appreciated the gesture and thanked the police.
