New Vispol head promises change

Springsite Col Khumbulani Ndaba has been appointed as the new Vispol commander (visible policing) effectively from April 1.

There is a new man in blue at the Benoni Police Station and he is here to serve you and listen to your concerns.

Col Khumbulani Ndaba has been appointed as the new Vispol commander (visible policing) effectively from April 1.

The Springs resident took over from the acting Vispol commander Lt Col Nhlanhla Shibambu.

His role is to oversee operations at the station including the sector commanders, shift commanders, officers and the Customer Service Centre (CSC).

He has been a police officer for 28 years and is the former Boksburg Central SAPS Vispol commander.

Ndaba said policing is his passion and he loves his job very much, hence he stayed in the same rank for many years.

He has a degree in policing and he is studying towards a BCom law degree at the Unisa.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous medals and he was the runner-up for the best Vispol commander at the Ekurhuleni East Cluster 2018 Prestige Awards.

When asked what can be expected from him, Ndaba said there will be change in Benoni and law will be enforced to reduce crime.

“There will be more police visibility and mobilising the community because when we work together everything becomes easier,” he said.

“We will also be working with friendly forces such as the metro, home affairs, SARS and more when
conducting operations.”

Ndaba emphasised that he will make sure residents feel safe and protected at all times.

“I also encourage residents to come forward with problems that are affecting their areas so we can we work together in addressing those security and safety issues and we will work with the CPFs to achieve that,” he added.
