Sgt Frans Mashimine, of Springs SAPS, received a complaint of a deceased person in an open field in Slovo Park recently.
On his arrival he found the deceased laying under a tree.
A resident,who lives near the scene, informed the officer that the victim was a homeless person who has been sleeping under the tree for the past two years.
The resident said he did not know the identity of the dead man.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and declared him dead.
There are no visible injuries n the body.
