Hope Hill offers Bags of Hope

Hope Hill Church is going into the town to feed those in need and they need your help.

Hope Hill Church has launched the Bags of Hope project to collect and distribute much-needed food parcels to Springsites in need.

The church, under the leadership of Sarah-Jane and Barret Grieve, has reached out to the community through both the church and the I Love Springs initiative of which the Springs Advertiser is a supporter and media partner, to ask people to buy groceries to fill these bags.

“As the need arises we’ll give those bags of hope to people in need and, if other organisations who are helping in Springs need additional food, we will pass on any surplus from what we collect,” says Sarah-Jane.

The church has asked that people buy the following to fill one Bag of Hope:

• Creamy mushroom soup

• Spaghetti and meatballs in a can

• Tomato and onion mix

• Sweetcorn

• Baked beans

• Chakalaka

• Vegetable curry

• Baker’s Marie biscuits

• Salt (500g)

• Ace maize meal (2.5kg)

• Milk powder (500g)

• Tagless teabags (52)

• Frisco instant coffee (200g)

• Brown sugar (500g)

• A bar of soap.

The project is currently in full swing and the church is eagerly awaiting donations.

To drop off contributions, contact Alice Banda on 063 221 5531 to make arrangements.

If you would prefer to make a donation which the church will use to buy these items, visit the I Love Springs Facebook page for banking details.
