Daggafontein man loses important documents during break-in

A search of his house revealed the suspects had taken his TV, tools, cellphone, shoes, documents, passports, birth certificate and clinic card.

A Daggafontein man was left without his important documents after a break-in at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the complainant was asleep when he heard a noise of a person breaking the front door.

Once the suspect got inside the house, the complainant realised there were three suspects.

They demanded money from him, but he told them he doesn’t have any because of the lockdown.

They ordered him to lie down, tied him up with shoelaces and covered his face with a blanket.

They then ransacked the house.

After about an hour, the victim could hear the suspects had left.

A search of his house revealed the suspects had taken his TV, tools, cellphone, shoes, documents, passports, birth certificate and clinic card.

The total value of the stolen items is R9 000.

The suspects were armed with pangas, but no one was injured.
