Visitation closed during lockdown

Visiting hours at hospitals remain canceled as the government attempts to reduce the spread of Covid 19

The Department of Health has noted with concern that community members continue to visit institutions to see their loved ones despite of lockdown regulations set by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

As part of the precautions to prevent the spread of Covid 19, hospitals have cancelled visiting hours.

Please note that visiting times remain cancelled as of March 26, 2020, until the end of the nationwide lockdown.

Additionally, patients who will be allowed at hospitals are:

• Patients who present emergency conditions

• Surgical out-patients

• Pregnant women

• Medical out-patients who are booked for the collection of medication.

Another precaution is that all will be expected to sanitise their hands as they enter the premises of any of these health institutions.
