Security guard shot and killed while on duty in Springs

“Upon his return a few minutes later with the neighbours and a security company, they found the other guard killed,” she explains.

Springs – A security guard was shot and killed while on duty at the African Evangelical Church at 4 Turquoise Street, Dersley Park, on Thursday evening.

It is alleged by the complainant, one of the two security guards, that they were on duty when they saw a car parking next to the guardroom.

Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the deceased went outside the guardroom to find out what the men were looking for.

“He apparently saw three men getting out of the vehicle while still talking, and noticed a fourth man inside the premises.

“The one inside tried to attack the now deceased security guard.

“The complainant managed to run and call for help while his colleague was still in the guardroom.
